EXCLUSIVE: Dibyendu Bhattacharya opens up Griha Laxmi co-star Hina Khan battle with breast cancer; says, “I can’t imagine the level…”

The actor discussed his co-actor Hina Khan battling breast cancer.

Dibyendu Bhattacharya on Hina Khan’s cancer journey

Speaking about working with Hina Khan in Griha Laxmi, Dibyendu shared his experience and applauded Khan for her courageous journey. He said, “Internally, her body and health were deteriorating, but we had no idea. This is because we shot in April, and by that time, it probably hadn’t been diagnosed. I think she announced it in the month of June when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. But there was not even the slightest hint that something was going on inside her or that her health was deteriorating. She was so energetic, such an enterprising actress. She was a fantastic co-actor as well. She worked with the same intensity as her co-actors.”

He further continued, “People like her have such strong personalities. I can’t even imagine the level at which she worked in this show despite everything. I wish her all the best, good luck, and good health. She is a wonderful woman and a fantastic co-actor.”

In June 2024, Hina shared that she had been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. In her Instagram post, she stated, “Hello everyone, I want to address the recent rumours and share some important news with all the Hinaholics and everyone who loves and cares for me. I have been diagnosed with Stage Three breast cancer.” She further said, “I am strong, determined, and fully committed to overcoming this disease. My treatment has already begun, and I am ready to do everything necessary to emerge from this even stronger. I kindly ask for your respect and privacy during this time.” Since then, the actor has been documenting her treatment through posts and videos on social media.
